Week3: Race and Ethnicity

There are no particular race or ethics problems in 2010 Shanghai World Exposition. Its main theme is harmony between man and nature, and harmony among human themselves. Among 250 countries’ participation, African countries made an important contribution.

African Joint Pavilion building is 26,000 square meters, covering an area equivalent to three and a half standard size soccer field. It is the largest among 11 Shanghai World Expo joint pavilions. The interior hall’s height is 9 meters, and each country’s exhibiting room covers an area of 250 square meters. [1]The joint pavilion has 43 separate exhibiting rooms, which are for 42 African countries and the African Union.[2] The 2010 Shanghai World Expo has the largest number of African countries participating in the world exposition history. [3]

African joint pavilion shows the world the qualities of a true Africa, so that more people know and love Africa. It is the common aspiration of the Expo organizers that the world get to know more and more about how is the life and what are people’s notions in Africa. Nuo Lana • tower • Armagh is on behalf of the African Diplomatic Corps to the Chinese Government and the ShanghaiWorld Expo organizers’ effort to assist African countries in Shanghai World Expo exhibitions.[4] He said that China, as the first registered developing country for the World Expo, so it is a historical event and moment for all the developing countries all over the world.[5] To reflect the diversity of the African continent, Africa joint pavilion and will provide a different variety of African cultural activities into the Shanghai World Expo, which will allow people to understand the African way of life, and promote cooperations with African countries and the world. 

It is reported that African Joint Pavilion of Shanghai World Expo Promotion Week is from September 25 until October 7.[6] To do the publicity week, the Shanghai World Expo Bureau has also produced a special brochure of African Joint Pavilion Zhuanban.
